DiaSpect requires location access to discover and pair with nearby DiaSpect diagnostic hardware using Bluetooth Low Energy. Background location is essential to maintain a continuous, stable link with the device during a diagnostic test. This ensures that the data synchronization process is not interrupted even if the user minimizes the app or the phone screen turns off, preventing the need to restart the testing procedure.
This permission allows DiaSpect to maintain a reliable connection with the external diagnostic device while a data transfer or test is in progress. Since diagnostic procedures require real-time monitoring, the foreground service ensures that Android does not terminate the connection if the user switches to another app, thereby guaranteeing the integrity and accuracy of the medical data being transmitted.
The app requires storage access to download and save diagnostic PDF reports generated by the DiaSpect device. This allows users to keep a permanent record of their hemoglobin test results on their device, which can then be shared with medical professionals or accessed offline via the device's file manager.
